Hiwatt

Hiwatt launched four valve guitar effects pedals at
Frankfurt Musikmesse in March 2010; Tube Overdrive, Tube Distortion,
Tube Tremolo and Tube Phaser.
The
new pedals, all of which come with the required 18v power supply in
with the price, have had a fantastic reception from the top named
players and bands lucky enough to have received early product.
The
Valve Overdrive has four controls; drive, tone master volume and mode.
The mode control switches between normal and deep settings, The Valve
Distortion has volume, drive, tone and master volume, The
Valve Phaser has speed, depth and master volume and In
the Valve Tremolo, the wave control changes incrementally the wave
style between sine wave and square wave for a rich effect coupled with
depth, speed and master volume
These
pedals have been developed for the discerning guitarist determined to
lay down the gutsiest of tones while on the road or in the studio, blow
away the competition and play their heart out with confidence in a
product that has been created with tone rather than electronic wizardry
in mind. The grunt mainly comes from the on-board ecc83 (12AX7) valve,
which is why the pedals need the 18v power supply; this is not your
usual, run of the mill PP9 battery technology as seen in smoke alarms
and other 'valve' offerings
Given
that Hiwatt have built their reputation over the last fourty years or
so on their sound and reliability, you can expect these pedals to ooze
both in abundance; they are going to be well made and durable, and they
are sure to deliver a tone you would expect from a product carrying the
Hiwatt name, whatever rig you’re playing through. But given it is the
same Hiwatt boffins who created these pedals that are responsible for
the Hiwatt classic sound; full of tone, punch and pure, simple clean
power, if you want to hear the pedals at their very best, put them
through a Hiwatt amp and enjoy.
